Important Safety Recall

Dear Valued L.L.Bean Customer,

Our records show you may have purchased or received a Thule bike carrier sold by L.L.Bean. The manufacturer, Thule, has advised L.L.Bean of a product safety recall affecting certain model carriers manufactured within a specific date range. There is a possibility that a weld on the arm assembly can crack and fail. If the safety strap or locking cable is not used, the bike arm assembly can become detached from the bike carrier, which could cause a vehicle crash or injure nearby pedestrians.

For your safety, please immediately stop using the bike carrier.

Please review the attached document from Thule. If you have a Thule Range, Thule Camber 2, or Thule Camber 4 bike carrier within the affected date range we ask that you please return the product directly to any L.L.Bean store, including L.L.Bean’s Bike, Boat, & Ski Store, 57 Main Street, Freeport, ME 04032. Recalled Product: Thule Camber 2 bike (#905800), Thule Camber 4 bike (#905600), and Thule Range 4 bike (#905700) manufactured in the date codes listed below:

Thule Range (905700) – _Date code 05/02/22 through 07/26/22

Thule Camber 2 Bike (905800) – _Date code 04/14/22 through 06/23/22

Thule Camber 4 bike (905600) – _Date code 03/31/22 through 06/23/22

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the bike carrier and determine if your product falls within the recall population. If so, contact Thule Group for a replacement bike mast assembly.
