How our tops fit.
Signature shirts, sweaters, blazers and coats are designed to have the trimmest, most modern fits offered by L.L.Bean. When compared to traditional L.L.Bean products, you can expect an overall fit that is slimmer through the chest, waist and sleeves. Many Signature items are designed to dress up or down, making them the perfect choice seven days a week.
How our pants fit.
Signature offers pants in two fits:
Standard and Slim-Straight.
Standard and Slim-Straight.
Standard Fit is cut straight through the hips and thighs, with an 18" leg opening.
Slim-Straight is our slimmest pant fit, tailored to wear closer through the hips and thighs, with a narrower 16½" leg opening.
Both fits are designed to sit just a bit lower on the waist, creating a more modern-looking silhouette.

How to Measure
neck
Measure a shirt collar that fits you well. Lay the collar flat and measure from the center of the collar button to the far end of the opposite buttonhole.
CHEST
Measure from under armpits, across shoulder blades and around fullest point of chest.
WAIST
Measure around the natural waistline. For belts, order your waist size; if in between sizes, order the next larger size.
INSEAM
Measure similar pants that fit well. Lay them flat and measure along the inseam, from the crotch to the bottom of the leg hem.
SLEEVE LENGTH
With your arm relaxed at your side, slightly bent, measure from the center back of the neck, over the point of the shoulder, down the outside of the arm to the wrist.
