Introduced as Bean's Ice Carrier way back in 1944, the Boat and Tote was billed as a bag made of builders' canvas for hauling ice "from car to ice chest." We start with sturdy 24 oz. American cotton canvas, then double stitch the seams for extra durability. You’ll know it’s an L.L.Bean original by the “v-point” on both sides where fabric and seams overlap.
