Easy Returns & Exchanges
If you are not 100% satisfied with one of our products, you may return it within one year of your purchase for a refund (special conditions may apply). After one year, we will consider any items for return that are defective due to materials or craftsmanship. Products purchased before February 9, 2018, are not subject to this one-year time limit. Proof of purchase required.
To protect all our customers and make sure that we handle every return or exchange with reasonable fairness, we cannot accept a return or exchange (even within one year of purchase) in certain situations, including:
• Products damaged by misuse, abuse, improper care or negligence, or accidents (including pet damage)
• Products showing excessive wear and tear. Products differ, but generally, wear and tear is considered excessive if the product is nearing the end of its practical use, or just looks heavily worn
• Products lost or damaged due to fire, flood, or natural disaster
• Products with a missing label or label that has been defaced
• Products returned for personal reasons unrelated to product performance or satisfaction
• Products that have been soiled or contaminated, until they have been properly cleaned
• Returns on ammunition, either in our stores or through the mail
• On rare occasions, past habitual abuse of our Return Policy
• Products purchased from third party sellers (Items purchased at one of our retail partners must be returned to them and are subject to their return policies)
• Return policy may vary at L.L.Bean Clearance Centers – please see details in store.
Returns & Exchanges through UPS or US mail are $6.50 per package or FREE if you used an L.L.Bean Mastercard or paid entirely using Bean Bucks. You can also return your item(s) to one of our retail stores for no extra cost (excludes Clearance Centers).
Returns

A few exceptions apply:
Large indoor and outdoor furniture must be returned to our Davis Warehouse in Freeport, Maine. Contact our Home Store at 1-877-755-2326 or Customer Service at 800-341-4341 for instructions or questions.
Mobile kiosks can only process returns for items purchased at those locations.
Currently, we are not able to support refunds back to your PayPal account. Items returned in stores will be refunded as store credit or check by mail.
Exchanges
Option 1: For the fastest service, simply place a new order and return your item(s).
Option 2: Call us at 1-800-441-5713 (para Español 1-888-867-1932) and we’d be happy to ship your item(s) right away. We’ll waive the standard shipping fee for your new order, but you’ll still be charged $6.50 if returning with the prepaid return label.
Option 3: Exchange your item(s) at any of our stores.
Use the return/exchange forms included with your order or fill out new forms using the options below. We’ll ship your new item(s) once we process your return.
NOTE: Returns by mail can take up to 2-3 weeks to process.
Service Plans for L.L.Bean Fly Rods and L.L.Bean Waders, as well as repairs for select L.L.Bean Boots, are available for situations beyond those covered by our Return Policy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Returns are processed within 2-3 business days after the package is received. We’ll email you a confirmation once processed. After that, it may take your bank additional time to post the credit.
Any Bean Bucks used will be returned to your Bean Bucks balance, usually as soon as the return is processed.
Gift recipients are mailed a Return Gift Card the next day via USPS, which should arrive within 4-6 business days.
We recommend initiating your return online for the best service—it’s easy to track your return and we’ll email you when your package arrives.

Oversized Freight
If you discover a problem after you've accepted delivery of an item shipped by freight, please contact us. We may be able to resolve the problem without requiring you to return the item.
Please retain all packaging material until you're completely satisfied with the condition of your purchase. If a return is required, we’ll work with a freight company to make arrangements for pick up.
Hazardous Materials
Certain hazardous materials cannot be returned in the mail, including batteries, fuel, glues, firearms, etc. Please return these items directly to one of our stores or contact customer service to discuss alternate options.
Orders Shipped to International Addresses
Our returns system supports Domestic returns with either UPS or USPS shipping labels; however, returns from US Territories and APO/FPO/DPO addresses must be sent with USPS shipping labels only. For more information, please give us a call:

Emails: All order related emails (such as order confirmation, order ship, ect..) contain an order number near the top.
Store Receipts: Our store receipts don’t have an order number that can be used for online returns. However, you may be able to look up your order number by entering your store receipt details here. You can also give us a call at 800-453-0659 and we’ll try to look it up for you.
Packing Slips:
1. For most orders, the order number can be found in the upper left corner of the slip. If your order number contains 15 digits, only enter the first 12.
2. For some orders, look for “Ext. Order ID” below one of the barcodes near the bottom of the slip.
If you’re returning an order you placed yourself, please log in to your account, find your order and select “Start a Return.”
If you don’t have an account or are returning a gift and don’t have the order number, please call 1-800-453-0659 to have one of our service reps provide this information for you.
• To be refunded to your original form of payment most quickly, we recommend you mailing your return to us with the label used in your order or to Start a Return Online.
• If you would like to bring your return to a store, we can offer you a store credit or a check in the mail.
• Due to issues related to currency management, we cannot promise being able to offer a cash return in stores.

You will still be charged $6.50 for return shipping when using the convenience label. Return shipping is FREE if your purchase was made using the L.L.Bean Mastercard or entirely with Bean Bucks.

Place a new order and return your item(s) via Easy Online Returns.
You can return your gift in any of the following ways:
Return to store: Take your gift to any L.L.Bean store or outlet with proof of purchase or the order information.
Return via mail:
- Use the Return & Exchange form and shipping label included in your package
- Use your order number to Start a Gift Return online
- Don’t have your order number? Contact us at 1-800-453-0659 and we can try to locate it for you.
As soon as we process your return, we’ll send you a Return Gift Card or, if opting for an exchange, your new item(s).
Start a return here, or in your puchase history, for each order containing items you want to return.
- Once your return is initiated, you can print the shipping labels and packaging slips needed to return your product(s).
Affix ONE of the shipping labels to the outside of your box.
- Place the rest of the packing slips inside your box, along with the items you're returning. Including these documents allows our staff to efficiently and accurately process your return.
- Don't worry; we will only deduct the $6.50 return shipping fee for the label used to ship your return.
Cancelling a return
If you change your mind, you don’t have to do anything at all. Simply enjoy your purchase!
Adding item(s) to return
Initiate a new return and use one of the labels to include all the items you wish to return. Be sure to include both packing slips in the return package.
Removing item(s) from return
Easy! Just look on your packing slip for the item(s) you’d like to keep and cross them out. Use the return label and send back only what you’d like to return.
Absolutely! Purchases made with a gift card will be refunded in the form of another gift card. Any Bean Bucks used towards your purchase will be returned to your Bean Bucks balance.
Yes. If you choose not to use our L.L.Bean shipping label, you will be responsible for paying all return shipping costs up front.
