Dear Valued L.L.Bean Customer,

Our records show you may have purchased or received a Marin bike sold by L.L.Bean. The manufacturer, Marin, has advised L.L.Bean of a product safety recall affecting certain model bikes manufactured with specific serial numbers that were sold in 2021. There is a possibility that the bike’s bottom bracket could break during use, causing the rider to lose control, posing a fall and crash hazard.

For your safety, please immediately stop using the bike.

Please review the attached document from Marin and follow the instructions, as described. Additional information, including the specific bike models and serial numbers impacted, can be found at https://www.marinbikes.com/bikes/recalls-safety/2021-bottom-bracket-recall. If you have a bike with an affected serial number, Marin is asking that you bring the bike to your local Martin dealer for a repair including the replacement of the bottom bracket, free of charge. L.L.Bean’s Bike, Boat, & Ski Store, 57 Main Street, Freeport, ME 04032, can perform this repair for you. If this location is not convenient for you, please contact us to discuss your options, including having the repair done at your local bike shop.
